昨天晚上看《奋斗》连续剧其中的一集。

里面的人物我实在没有几个看得上的，一个一个或者自私，或者势力，或者冷血，或者无耻。

只有一个人让我眼睛一亮，他就陆亚迅，陆涛的养父。

他是个很正直的人，并且说了句我十分赞同的话：炒房是件缺德事。

第一次听人用缺德二字来形容炒房的行为，入木三分而且痛快淋漓。

 

做人想要挣钱是无可厚非的，可是要生财有道才行。而今炒房却成了一种集体的不道德的行为。

这种行为不但不为社会创造产品和价值，而且严重降低了大多数工薪阶层的生活水平。

这会使勉强买的起房的人没有余钱从事其他的消费，更会使买不起房的人享受不到家居的便利和温暖。

从大处说过高的房价还会影响整个社会和经济的稳定性。

 

唯利是图和鼠目寸光的政府在这个问题上要付主要的责任。个人的道德行为大多数还是有社会制度来规范的。

 

这个世界上有不挣钱创造价值的business，有既挣钱又创造价值的business, 还有挣钱不创造价值甚至创造负价值的business。我们可以不用高尚到第一类，但是要尽量待在第二类，第三类即使再挣钱也不要做。作为社会和政府，应该大力提倡第二类business, 大力封杀第三类business, 这样才能有效提高整个社会的GDP，单个公司的profit顶个屁用。

 

 

 

 

Our group has been running without a manager for quite a few months. We need make a lot more decisions by ourselves. Some of them are pretty tough. On the other hand, we feel less pressure and more safety.

 

We have been interviewing a lot of candidates for the manager position. However, all of them get rejected so far because we think they are not technically strong enough. That's the typical way of thinking inherited from silicon labs where technical capabilities are highly emphasized for managers. That's totally not true for managers in big companies. Our company is not so attractive now without any stock offers and we are no longer a small company. I wonder anybody who is strong in both technical stuff and management is willing to join us.  

Citi is way beaten down. Maybe it will go for bankruptcy protection or nationalized?

 

Detroit big three is on the edge of buring out of cash. The $25 billion won't be a viable long term solution. I believe this economic crisis will last till the end of 2009. If government gives them $25 billion now, they will simply ask for more later. They have to bring down the labor cost significantly and work something out with UAW. If the workers only insist on their own short-term benefit now, America will not have any labor jobs at all in the coming generations.

 

A lot of retail stores such as circuit cty are filing bankruptcy protection or closing a lot of stores.

 

I am curious why America government still has cash to burn to maintain peace and democracy in Iraq at such a time. Let's see how long they can hold out there.

 

The worst is still yet to come.

I am doing a lot of interviews these days. Our group only has a couple of opennings but we have got so many resumes these days due to the shut-down of startups and layoffs from big companies. I interviewed one last week, one today and another one is coming this Friday. That is one way I am feeling the impact of this economic crisis. I tend to believe it's just the beginning and it still has a long way to go.

One of my red gourami fishes hasn't eaten anything for the last few days. It looks ver dull and only moves around when chased by other fish. Maybe he is mentall ill or physicall sick. I wish I could talk to him.

 

He has been with us for more than a year now. Probably it is going to die this time. So far, if a fish stops eating for some reason, there is not much that I can do. Changing water, using all kinds of water treatment or medication won't help at all. It never returns on that irreversible road to heaven.
